DETECTION OF ADULTERATION IODISED V/S COMMON SALT

An activity was conducted by 'HEALTH AND WELLNESS' club for classes VI to VIII to make them aware about adulteration in salt. The session explained students to distinguish between iodized salt and common  (Non-iodized) salt. A small experiment was executed to detect this. Students took 2 slices of potato and put different salt on each of them. After 1 min -  2 drops of lemon juice was added on the potato slice. The change in colour was spotted. Iodised salt turns in blue colour.
